SICHUMILE ADAM

Sichumile Adam (b. 2001) is an emerging visual artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has recently graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with an honour's degree in fine arts.

Sichumile draws inspitrstion from personal and collective experiences of contemporary Black African women; whilst her work captures the essence of the modern Black woman through the lens, reference and influence of popular media culture.

“I have met and experienced different types of women, particularly women who look like me; that’s where my inspiration comes from.”
